207 Creatives is a partnership of two fiber artists, Ellen Skea Marshall and Elizabeth Miller, bringing you unique fiber events and experiences. We are slow makers- our craft takes time to produce. Planning, drawing, hand dyeing wool, color planning a piece, cutting the wool strips (worms), hooking it all by hand and finally the binding. Two Cats And Dog Hooking
Ellen Marshall of Two Cats And Dog Hooking

Ellen Skea Marshall, a fiber artist based in Maine, is best known for her rug-hooking artistry.
Her work predominantly utilizes hand-dyed wool fabric, which she dyes in her studio in Maine. Her rugs can be categorized as heritage rug-hooking with a contemporary whimsical aesthetic.
Marshall’s work encompasses a diverse range of sizes, from small to larger-scale rugs, often inspired by her surroundings. She divides her time between the western mountains and southern coastal regions of Maine, drawing inspiration from both landscapes. Notably, she has created political rugs as a means of comprehending or addressing the current political climate in the United States.
Marshall participates in workshops and retreats with a diverse range of instructors, drawing upon their expertise to develop her own distinctive designs. Her creations are all original, encompassing both loose representative designs and abstract and geometric styles.
As the sole owner, designer, and creator of Two Cats and Dog Hooking, Marshall has gained respect and recognition for her work. In 2022, a personal rug and article were featured in Karen Miller’s book, The Art of Mothering. Additionally, she has exhibited and demonstrated her work at the Bethel Historical Society in Bethel, Maine. Her trips on Get Hooked at Sea have proven to be very inspirational.
Throughout her time as a rug hooker, Marshall has consistently carried on her grandmothers’ tradition of rug-hooking, ensuring that her creations are a testament to this enduring legacy.
She lives in Albany Township, Maine with her husband and their Labrador, Gracie.
